Easter Delight: Uniting Families at District 3 Parks
This year, we celebrated the Easter season in four major parks across District 3. Many families came together with their little ones to enjoy these completely free events. Children had the opportunity to participate in Easter egg hunts, while their parents and grandparents joined in on the festivities with food, music, entertainment, and of course, the arrival of the Easter princess and bunny. We continue to bring our community and families together, always wishing them peace, love, and harmony.

Plaza de la Cubanidad: Honoring Cuban History and Roots
It is essential to know the true history, to know our roots, and to honor those who have been victims of the totalitarianism and those who have sacrificed so much for freedom. We recently inaugurated the first phase of improvements and renovations to the Plaza de la Cubanidad park, a space that precisely honors our history.

Brigade 2506: Honoring the Courageous Fight for Cuban Freedom
It is our duty to remember and honor those who have sacrificed so much for freedom. It was an honor to once again support the Brigade 2506. This year, we commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the Bay of Pigs invasion. In April 1961, about 1,500 young Cuban exiles, members of Brigade 2506, invaded Cuba with the aim of liberating it from the recently established communist dictatorship of Fidel Castro. The Brigade members fought against approximately 75,000 Castro regime forces. These exiled youths were abandoned and betrayed, but they fought like few others in history. Their struggle was against communism in Cuba and the world. It is essential that we remember and that future generations learn about the brave Cubans of Brigade 2506, who gave everything for the cause of freedom.

Keeping District 3 Clean: Our Daily Commitment
Here is another example of our DAILY clean ups.
This cleanup was conducted this morning at 1138 NW 7th Street.
Keeping our streets clean is one of our top priorities. That is why we clean up daily. Thanks to the #SolidWaste team at our #District3 office for their invaluable contribution in creating an inviting neighborhood for everyone.
We are commited to keeping #District3 clean and ensuring a daily cleanup.
✅ ✅ How we do it:
The City of Miami’s Department of Solid Waste offers residential properties 2 pick-ups of binned garbage a week, 2 recycling pickups a month, and 1 bulky trash pick-up per week. In addition to the services offered, our office worked to create a dedicated team of 6 Solid Waste employees who service our district daily. Beyond picking up garbage, the team looks for other infraestructure related issues, such as cleaning out clogged drains. The Solid Waste team works in collaboration with 6 staffers from our office who patrol the district daily looking for hotspots, which are immediately reported to the solid waste team for action. Therefore, responding and picking up garbage in our district occurs not only daily but quickly.
